Try a New Technique #162
Good morning to you all !!! It turned out to be a very busy day yesterday. I am trying to get ready for my upcoming class this Wenesday, so I was busy cutting papers. Sassy Susie is one of my projects that I will be doing. For today's
TLC- paper Tole technique, I decided to use Susie, since no flowers are allowed. I stamped her several times and stacked the same images for a 3-D look. The head, the hair, her shirt. pants, table and cup are all stacked to create the 3-D look. I added stickles in her earrings and necklace.
It really looks amazing IRL.
Thanks for stopping by.

Inspiration Challenge #121
Happy Saturday and Good Morning !!!
Today's SCS challenge is to make a card inspired by something in your home. It could be a pillow, hand towel, floor tile, fabric, or maybe another piece of art. I have this "Create" displayed in my stamp room and I used it as my inspiration.
The wall in my room has this mustard color, so I just picked up the colors from there. The small flowers I used were stamped in Whisper White, DSP Mustard, More Mustard and So Saffron paper using Basic Brown. I used Aqua painter to color the Flowers stamped in WW, and Versamark pen with the rest. The Simply Said flowers were stamped repeatedly and colored the flowers with White Gel pen.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Cause for Celebration, Simply Said, Big Deal Alphabet
Paper: More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, So Saffron, DSP Mustard
Ink: More mustard, Basic Brown Chocolate Chip, White Gel Pen, Versamark pen, White Craft
Accessories: Tafetta Ribbon, Gold Brads, Stickles
Tools: Stamp-a-majig, 1/16 Punch, Aqua painter, Dimensionals, Decorative Scissors

Butterfly Petals
Sketch Card Challenge #169
I worked last night so I am pretty tired and that is probably why I came up with this name for my card. I used the butterfly to create these petals, and used the 1/2 inch Circle punch (cut into two) and used it for the center. I added the Dazzling Diamonds glitter after. I chose the CB folder for the background and for the short panel. I added the HPH and ribbons for embellishments.
Thansk for stopping by.

RAKS from Nancy and Jessie!!!
Talented Stampers
These two are... love their work. You can both enjoy their creativity by visiting their galleries and or blogs and get ready to be mesmerized.
Nancy's Blog ( IStamp)
Jessie's Blog (Can you say...Addicted to Stamps?)
I am hooked myself when I vist their blogs and find cards/projects. Although pictures are the next bext thing to capture images, they really do not do justice. You actually have to see these cards IRL.
I thank them both for sharing their talent and creativity.

Amazing Soft Sky
Color Challenge #159
This is the color challenge on SCS today-Soft Sky, Basic Gray, and Whisper White. I also cased last Snday's FS Amy (Pickle Tree) whose gallery is Amazing !!!. I case pretty much the layout (Beate's WSC) and used this Pretty Amazing set, which is the perfect choice for this wonderful FS.
The main flower was stamped 3 times and I trim the layers for the 3-D look. I added the stitching using marker. I added the Jelly roll Glitter pen but of course it doesn't show at all, but it has that shine IRL. I did the same thing for the small flowers. The background was using the Pretty Petals and I outlined the design with White Gel pen.
Thanks for stopping by.

Stamps: Pretty Amazing, Pretty Petals
Paper: Basic Gray, Soft Sky, Whisper White, DSP Soft Sky

Party-ing in Vegas
Admit Two (2)
Happy Tuesday !!! I am still pretty tired from last weekend...too much partying in Vegas (lol). From the time we got there, it has been non stop and you kinda just go with the flow. We saw Fergie's concert at Mandalay Bay, and all I can say is that "It was Fergilicious", a band named Carney for the opening act. It wasn't really my kinda concert but the seat was the best. We met Fergie's Mom and Dad who were seating behind us. The highlight of the evening was when my DH told me that he felt something spilled behind his back. He wasn't kidding when I saw red wine stain on his blue polo shirt. Oh well, that's what you
get when you party all night.
We watched also some impersonators which was pretty hilarious. We went cosmic bowling at Red Rock and scored 164 and 141 which was an okay score since I have not bowled for years. I ate a lot, and I mean a lot. We went shopping, too (that was a given when we go there). We also got to watched the boxing fight between Pacquiao/Marquez on DVD at my sister's house, which was gruesome but can't stop watching it.
So that was pretty much why I was tired and has not posted for the last few days. I felt bad not posting but I was having too much of a good thing to feel really bad. And you know what they say, what happened in Vegas, it never happened.

I made this bunny treat using the small cello bag from SU!. I remembered seeing it in the gallery but forgot to put it in my Favorites. The top and bottom are the main support that is holding the treat. I used the different punches to make the bunny face . I cased the idea from stampmouse.

Silhouettes
Sketch Challenge #168
Good morning !!! Here is a card that I did for the SC on SCS. Here is the sketch.
I went with the neutral colors and a Basic Black ink. I did some piercing on the main panels. I added the scallops in the bottom using the slit punch and embellished it with brads. I added the circle for a bit of asymmetry. It looks so plain without it. Hope that makes sense.
Thanks for stopping by.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Stem Silhouettes, Sweet Serendipity
Paper: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Sahara Sand
Ink: Basic Black, White Gel Pen
Accessories: Ribbons, Brads
Tools: Tool Kit, Slit Punch, Circle Punches

Altered Box
Door Prize Winner !
On our monthly Demo meeting, we always do a Door Prize. I won last month's door prize. I finally got the chance to upload the pics. This altered box is a creative work of Diane, aka the Queen of Glitter. She used the Simply Scrappin' Crew Kids Girl DSP. I just love how she designed this.
She used a chipboard using the Fine Cosmo Stampin' Glitter.
I love the colors on this. I have to remember this so I can use it in the future.

Bloomin' 3-D
Color Challenge #158
Happy Tuesday to all !!!
Here is a card that I did for the Color Challenge
on SCS. I love orchid Opulence by itslef but I get
stuck at times on what I would combined it with.
I am not fond of today's color challenge but I think it worked out quite well in the end. NO DSP here, only because I really do not have the pattern papers that I could work with. The main BG was stamped with the words using my Stamp-a-majig. I used my Spritzer tool to have that distressed look. The sage panel was stamped with the flower with Sage color.
The main flowers were stamped 3 times, and trim to achieve that 3-D effect.
Thanks for stopping by.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful
Paper: Sage Shadow, Orchid Opulence, Kraft, Glossy White
Ink: Staz-on Black, Sage Shadow, Orchid Opulence
Accessories: Ribbobs, Brads
Tools: Paper Piecing tool, Spritzer, Aqua Painter, Ticket Punch, Dimensionals, 1/16 punch
Stamp-a-majig.
3-D Tip: After you trim the pieces to your flower, it adds so much if you curl it a bit with a bone folder. Always use Glossy white to get that shiny look.

Sweet of You
Inspiration Challenge #119
Hello and Good morning !!!
Here is the inspiration for this card. I remembered that I have this boot from Flower Filled, so I based my inspiration around it. The flowers I used is from the set Vases in Vogue; they look like the lollipop swirls. The red flowers were popped in dimensionals, then added the stickles after I colored them. The boot I stamped in red and cut it out. I used the White Gel Pen to do the broken lines and adapted it around the main panel. I used the HPH for the buckle and the striped ribbon makes a nice accent.
I used this DSP because of the swirls.
Thanks for stopping by.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Flower Filled, Sweet of You
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Real Red, So Saffron, Whisper White, DSP
Ink: Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Real Red
Accessories: Brads, Striped Ribbon, Stickles, HPH
Tools: Slit Punch, 1/16 Punch, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter

I used this DSP because of the swirls.

Faux Cloisonne
Try a New Technique #159
Happy Monday and Good Morning!!! I have a little time to do the challenge before I do my AM chores, so I went ahead and did this new technique. It is called Faux Cloisonne. It is taking designs from a magazine, emboss, trim and into your card. The hard part is picking out the designs, but once you picked it out, you should be able to coordinate the papers to used. I used Bravo Burgundy, River Rock and Very Vanilla. I kept my main background clean so the designs on the flowers will show more. I added the Crystal Effects and sprinkled DD. I finished it off by adding HPH, ribbons and pearls from the Pretties kit.
Thnaks for stopping by.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Kind Thoughts
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, River Rock, Very Vanilla
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Gold Encore
Accessories: DS Ribbon, Narrow Cream Organdy Ribbon,HPH, Dazzling Diamonds
Tools: Detail Gold EP, Heat Gun, 1/16 Punch, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Love Essentials
Occasions Mini Card Swap
I was in a recent card swap and chose this beautiful set from the Occasions Mini. I wanted to capture the colors Blue Bayou, Old Olive and Whisper White from the DSP Spring Break, so I used it for my stamp image and kept the colors and clean lines all around.
I used the slit punch for the scallops and the 1/16 punch for the holes. I used two embellishments, DS ribbon and Gold brads which is probably not a requierement for a swap but a necessity.
Thanks for stopping by.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Essence of Love
Paper: Blue bayou, Old Olive, Whisper White, DSP Spring Break
Ink: Blue Bayou, Old Olive
Accessories: DS Ribbon, Gold brads
Tools: 1", 11/4", 13/6" Circle Punches, Slit Punch, 1/16 punch, Dimensionals

On Growing Old...
Two of our very dear stamping friends (Janice and Colleen) are celebrating their birthday this March. When Colleen's sister brought this in class, what better way to share it with everyone, young or old.
My Favorite Things (It says lyrics by Julie Andrews)
Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in strings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cadillacs and cataracts and hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixident and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the pipes leak,
When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Back pains and confused brains and no need for simin,
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frame,
When we remember our favorite things.
When the joints ache,
When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had
And then I don't feel so bad.
