FEB09VSNA-Sketch a Little Love


Hello everyone !!!
I finally got all the cards posted from VSN night.
Here are the challenges from A to S.
Follow the sketch, this is the basic card layout. It has the folded card which is the standard size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, a mounted piece of paper which is 4 x 5 1/4, one big circle and one big heart.Hope you like it a latte.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Like it a Latte
Paper: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel
Ink: White Craft, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: red tafetta ribbon, brads
Tools: circle cutter, pirceing tool, scallop edge punch

I stamped the cup in Creamy Caramel paper and mounted the heart in dimensional and added a touch of glitter.

Dark Chocolate

FEB09VSNB- Dark Chocolate

The challenge - to choose your favorite type of chocolate, look at the color schemes pictured below, and make a card based upon the color scheme for that type.
I chose Dark Chcolate-Chocolate Chip, Apricot Appeal and Cameo Coral.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Central Park, Fundamental Phrases
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Apricot Appeal, Cameo Coral, DSP
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: double stitched Chocolate Chip ribbon, brads
Tools: circle punches, CB and CB folder

For the main image, I stamped it with Apricot Appeal first,

then ink the image with Chocolate Chip to create the shadow.

Fave the Least

FEB09VSNC- Bittersweet Love
challenge to you is to take a stamp set you don’t like, and incorporate it into a lovely, luscious card.
This is the set that I least fave because I have such a hard time designing a card with it. And to my surprise it made it in the honor's gallery.

The challenge is to make a card using the new things you love! Everything on the card (except the cardstock and ink) should be new within the past two months or something you've been hoarding that you've never used before.

I used everything new-the jumbo brad,organza ribbon,new stamp set, and new DSP.

Love Birds

FEB09VSNE- One True Love




The challenge is to celebrate your ONE TRUE LOVE by making a monochromatic card. Your card can use several shades of the same color, and one neutral, too.

Split Negative

FEB09VSNF- Two Hearts Beat as One

The challenge is to create a card using the split negative technique. I thought I'd try this stamped image with this technique adding embossed die cut images.

The challenge is to make a card inspired by a quote from The Princess Bride.
This the quote that inspired me:
The Grandson: Is this a kissing book?
Grandpa: Wait, just wait.
The Grandson: Well, when does it get good? Grandpa: Keep your shirt on, and let me read.

I've seen the movie once or twice and I remember this part and it was a funny convesation.

My Style

FEB09VSNH-You're my Obsession
The challenge-Use your obsession to inspire a card and create a card based on your obsession! Is it chocolate? Shopping? Stamping?
Who doesn't love purses?
There is very little stamping here, but I used quite a bit of punches to create these purses.

I used the new Parisian Breeze DSP which has some added texture to them. Love it !!!

Crayon Beauty

In this challenge we did the melted crayon background technique. I just use a regular kids green crayon. The effect is really cool.

I love the new ribbon from Stampin' UP ; so soft and elegant.

Acetate Card

FEB09VSNJ-Window into my Soul
The challenge is to create a card that uses acetate or clear on the front or as the entire card. I love the way this came out, including the colors.

Accessories: narrow satin ribbon, brad, beads
Tools: Big Shot machine, sizzlit, dimensionals, acetate










The sentiment was stamped in the sizzlit tag.
The flower is from the Botanical Blooms Sale-a-bration set.

Clownin' Around

FEB09VSNK -Long Lost Love
The challenge is to find a LONG LOST stamp(s) give it a little squeeze, renew that friendship and then ink those babies up.This is the set that I used to love and was buried in my collection of stamps. I added the new sentiment for a different look.

I love using the Copic markers for coloring.
I am still learning some blending techniques.

I added Crystal Effects on the balloons, use a DSP paper for the cupcake and raised it with dimensionals

FEB09VSNM I Heart Jack Bauer !

The challenge is to make a card inspired by YOUR CELEBRITY crush...I love his show 24 and I watched the whole series on DVD. This is an old stamp and do not even know who makes it.
The stamped image fits my 24 hero to save this lady in distress, he!he!

create a card using only items that start with the letter L , except for the card stock/paper and adhesive. (ex: Lavender colored CS or ink, Lilac colored CS or ink, lace, letters, linen, lilac flowers, leather, lines, etc.)Hope you like it.

The challenge is to make a joy fold card.

RECIPE:
Stamps: A Happy Heart
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Riding
Hood Red
Ink: Basic Black, Real Red
Accessories: tafetta white ribbon, rhinestone brad
Tools: circle punches, scallop circle punch, dimensionals

The scallop circle secures the opening for the

fold. I used my snips for the scallops for a different look.

Botanicals

FEB09VSNP- Some man be Thinking of You

Here are the rules:
My challenge is to make a card that a MAN would send to any female (wife, girlfriend, mom … even sister, daughter, whatever).
1. Color combination: Kraft, Navy, Vanilla (or similar colors if non-SU colors)
2. No ribbon, no primas/flowers (Uh Oh). Feel free to substitute strips of DP or card stock, border punched or pierced – be creative in making faux ribbon. Have those floral punches? Use those to fill that “prima-need”.
3. 3 Brads … no more no less … (Not 4 - not 2)…3 on the whole card.
4. Your stamped image must be from Nature – as in Botanicals – leaves, flowers, trees, etc. (No adorable Hedgehogs or Bella’s, no Riley’s or House Mice, no Whiff's or Sugar Nellies, etc.)

This was such a fun challenge. I substituted the crimped strips for ribbon.

That is some "wild" and "fun" party. I just did the Girl's Night Out for two straight days and I had the best fun.....STAMPING!!! I did 18 cards and I am proud to say I did them all. It probably would not happen again, because I think I stretched my boundaries a liitle...okay a lot!!!
The hostesses gives you a challenge and you have 45 minutes to do the project, upload the card and then go to the next challenge. It was hard to keep up at first but once I got some Diet Coke and M&M's, I was A-okay !
